On this review I will be reviewing the debut album from 'Jake Shears' who's also known as member of the band 'Scissor Sisters'. The album was released this month on the . It's the debut album by Jake Shears which is self-titled.
Jake Shears also known as Jason F. Sellards is an American singer, songwriter from Arizona. He is best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock, indie pop band 'Scissor Sisters'. Whilst I was growing up I enjoyed listening to the 'Scissor Sisters'. Their best known for their hits "I Don't Feel Like Dancing", "Any Which Way", "Fire With Fire", and many more. Whilst the 'Scissor Sisters' have had a great career from the early 2000s they were an interesting band with Nu-Disco, Alternative Rock, and Glam Rock. Jake will always be known as the lead singer of the 'Scissor Sisters'. Despite the band has been on hiatus since 2012. I feel like they will probably be back in the next few years probably 2020. If I had to pick my favourite 'Scissor Sisters' album I would say their second album "Ta-Dah" which has my favourite track on it "I Don't Feel Like Dancing". After 'Scissor Sisters' announced they would go on hiatus. Jake decided to plan his debut album. It took him time to record his debut album. Fans requested that Jake would make his debut album to sound a bit like the 'Scissor Sisters'. In which it did which sounds bit like Scissor Sisters. After hearing his self-titled debut album what did I think of it? Well I thought it was a good album. It's a good start to Jake's career. It's a good album I liked it. I did not expect him to release an album this year. It's a good album I liked it. Really interesting piano melodys it's a joyful album.
Moving on to my favourite tracks starting with "Good Friends" which I thought was a decent track with good vocals. "Big Bushy Mustache" It's kind of this rock n roll track which I found interesting groovy and catchy I like it. "Sad Song Backwards" I like this groovy boogie woogie piano which I found quite groovy. "Everything I'll Ever Need" it's an alright track I like it. "The Bruiser" this track is not that bad. It's well produced. My least favourite track is "Creep City" which was a track I did not really like that much not to keen on it.
Overall it's a good album. I would listen to it again. It's a solid debut album. I am giving this album a 7/10.
