On this review I will be reviewing an album which was released this year back in April on the 7th April 2017. It is Father John Misty's third studio album called "Pure Comedy".

Father John Misty also known as Josh Tillman is an American Folk singer/songwriter from Rockville Maryland. He is famously known as the drummer for the band 'Fleet Foxes'. He has released albums from his previous artist name 'J Tillman'. Which at the time he released only 7 albums under the name 'J Tillman'. Since 2012 he became known as 'Father John Misty'. He has released three studio albums which are "Fear Fun", "I Love You Honeybear", and of course "Pure Comedy". His debut album "Fear Fun" was released back in 2012 which is an okay debut album. Really loved the 'Indie Folk' sounds on his debut album. It also has a bit of 'Psychedelic Folk' to it as well. His second studio album "I Love You Honeybear" which is a fantastic second album it was one of my favourite albums back in 2015. There were some fantastic tracks on that album such as "Holy Shit", "True Affection", "Strange Encounter", "The Night Josh Tillman Came To Our Apt", and many more. After two years we finally have another 'Father John Misty' album. Since hearing this album what did I think of it? I enjoyed this album a lot. I am really glad it has been nominated for 'Best Alternative Music Album' along with 'Arcade Fire', 'LCD Soundsystem', 'Gorillaz', and 'The National'. As an LCD Soundsystem Fan I really would like 'LCD Soundsystem' to win 'Best Alternative Music album' for the 2018 Grammy's. I wouldnt mind if 'Father John Misty wins it. I was quite surprised 'Father John Misty's' albums was not nominated for 'Album Of The Year'. Instead of 'Jay-Z's '4:44'. Father john Misty's album should be nominated for 'Album Of The Year' instead of Jay-Z. On the album 'Pure Comedy' it's such a fantastic album with fantastic 'Folk' vocals. Josh's voice sounds like a mixture of 'Billy Joel' and a mixture of  'Elton John'. This album is nearly 80 minutes long which is definitely worth listening to if your interested in 'Folk' music.

My favourite tracks on the album were "Pure Comedy", "Total Entertainment Forever", "Leaving LA", "A Bigger Paper Bag", "The Memo",  and "So I'm Growing Old On A Magic Mountain". Starting of with "Pure Comedy" I enjoyed this track it was interesting with smooth 'Folk' to it. "Total Entertainment Forever" which is quite an amusing track with some interesting lyrics to it. "Leaving LA" a smooth piano melody to it which sounds a bit like from one of Billy Joel's album "Piano Man". "A Bigger Paper Bag" a decent track not the strongest in my opinion but it is still a decent one. "The Memo" I quite enjoyed this track quite a lot. The piano melody is just so amazing on this track. "So I'm Growing Old On A Magic Mountain" which is the penultimate track on the album another great piano melody with fantastic vocals. Such an underrated track. My least favourite track was a track called "Birdie" it's still an okay track I dont hate it but it is just my least favourite.

Overall I thought this album was fantastic. Another fantastic album by a fantastic artist/songwriter. I definitely see myself listen to this album again. This album is an example of a masterpiece from a 'Folk' artist.  I would give this album an 8/10.
