Least Favourite Track: I Only Lie When I Love You
On this review I will be reviewing an album which was released this year back in June on June 16th 2017. It is Royal Blood Sophomore album (Second Studio album) called "How Did We Get So Dark?"
Royal Blood are a British hard Rock band from Brighton. Which consists of two members 'Mike Keer', and 'Ben Thatcher'. I have been a fan of these guys since 2014, These guys released a fucking great album back in 2014 which was their Self-Titled album and their debut album called "Royal Blood". That album done very well by reaching top 10 in countries such as UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand. Their debut album was nominated for a Mercury Prize back in 2014. From their debut album "Royal Blood" they are some great tracks that I loved from back in the day "Little Monster", "Figure It Out", "Out Of The Black", "Come On Over" and many more. I frequently listen to some tracks on their debut album on a regular basis. When I found out that Royal Blood were going to release their second album this year I was quite pleased to find out what they were going to offer in their second album. Since hearing their new album what did I think of it? It was hugely disappointing listening to this album. The beat riffs were awful on some tracks. This album was just awful I don't understand how this is receiving some positive reviews.
My favourite tracks on the album were "Lights Out" and "Look Like You Know". Starting with "Lights Out" such a great track. I really enjoyed Ben's drumming on this track. A catchy track that I often come back to listen to. "Look Like You Know" A great track the production of the track was decent. My least favourite track was a track called "I Only Lie When I Love You" Not the strongest track in my opinion but it's definitely not the best. I feel like this track didn't fit to well on the album.
Overall I feel this album was a huge disappointment from a band that I have been a fan of. I would not come back to listen to this album again. I would give this album a 4/10
