On this review I will be reviewing an indie rock artist from Oklahoma. It is an album that was released this year back in October on the 13th October 2017. It is St.Vincent's fifth studio album called "Masseduction".
St Vincent also known as 'Annie Clark' is a female Indie rock singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Oklahoma. Who I have been a fan of since her fourth album "St. Vincent" which is self-titled. She is the most interesting female artists in this generation. She is an underrated artists that deserves a lot of attention from young audience. I am really glad I discovered her from back in the day her albums are really good. She has released five albums which are called. "Marry Me", "Actor", "Strange Mercy", "St. Vincent", and of course "Masseduction". Her first album "Marry Me" has a mixture of Indie pop, Chamber pop, and a bit of Art rock. Her debut album is okay it's a decent first album with some good tracks on it. Her second album "Actor" another decent album not one of my favourites from her but it's still a decent album. Her third album "Strange Mercy" is a fantastic album It is my favourite album from her discography. I loved the songs such as 'Cruel', 'Surgeon', 'Neutered Fruit' and many more. Her fourth album "St. Vincent" is my second favourite album from her. it has a mixture of Noise pop, Art rock, and Pop rock. This album was more of a Pop rock album. And now 3 years later we have a new St. Vincent album "Masseduction". Since hearing this album what did I think of it? I loved this album it was a good album. I would say it is better than her last album.
My favourite tracks on this album were "Hang On Me", "Los Ageless", "Happy Birthday Johnny", "New York", "Smoking Section,". Starting of with "Hang On Me" great opener to the album I love Annie's vocals on this beautiful track. I feel like it should have been 3 minutes and half instead of two mins and half. "Los Ageless" my personal favourite track on the whole album. I enjoyed the production of this song. Interesting lyrics on this track. "Happy Birthday Johnny" such a beautiful song. Smooth pop which represents this track. "New York" such an emotional track dedicated to the beautiful city of New York. "Smoking Section" the underrated track on this album. One of the strongest. My least favourite track was a track called "Sugarboy" this track was so weird it felt like this track is playing in an 80's electro pop club.
Overall I enjoyed this album. I would definitely listen to it again I would give this album a 7/10.
